DATO’ SITI NURHALIZA LIVE IN SINGAPORE | 3.5/5 – TODAYonline

SINGAPORE — Let’s just be real — some singers sound awful when performing live. It’s either that they lose their breath while dancing or warble instead of belting or they are … Beyonce. Well, Siti Nurhaliza, I’m glad to say, falls into the Beyonce camp. She’s excellent live — singing and dancing at the same time and sounding as flawless as she does on her tracks.

The concert marked the 19th anniversary of her career in the music industry, but it was hard to believe she has been around for so long as she was extremely humble in her repartee with the audience. She took selfies with her fans (while she was performing), acknowledged them in almost every song and even invited two lucky audience members to dance with her on stage.

Besides performing songs from her first album to her last album (All Your Love), she performed her latest song, Terbaik Bagimu, that has not been released yet. She said it was the first time she sang it before an audience, much to our delight. The Malaysian singer also had a surprise in store: A duet with Singapore’s sweetheart, Taufik Batisah. The crowd went wild, almost everyone got up on their seats and danced — yes, even the makciks. As for me, I’m a new proud “Sitizoner” after this. Naadiah Badib
