
Taipei, Nov. 26 (CNA) The Singaporean film “Ilo Ilo,” which captured the Golden Horse Award for Best Feature Film on Saturday, will hit local theaters on Nov. 29.
The family drama will be screened at the Eslite Art House, the Spot Huashan cinema at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park and seven other theaters around Taiwan, the film’s distributor, ifilm Co., said Tuesday.
“Ilo Ilo,” the debut feature of Singaporean director Anthony Chen, tells the story of the relationship between a Singaporean family and its Filipino nanny, set against the background of the financial crisis in the late 1990s.
It bagged four of the six Golden Horse Awards for which it was nominated.
Chen scooped up the Best New Director and Best Original Screenplay awards, while Yeo Yann Yann, who plays a mother in the movie, won Best Supporting Actress.
